CGI is an international IT consulting and systems integration company. Concept was asked to complete the refurbishment of its new City based offices in Threadneedle Street in just 6 weeks.
Not only were the timescales extremely tight, but the project presented another challenge. Although CGI’s personnel in London were responsible for approving the new office design, the person accountable for the project was based in Canada.
Meticulous organisational skills and regular and open communication were key to completing the fit out on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction. Concept held weekly virtual site meetings to update everyone involved on the status of the project and to provide an opportunity for all parties to ask questions and obtain feedback.
The refurbishment included designing and fitting-out an open plan office space, meeting rooms, tea point, toilets and reception area. It also included extensive alterations to the air conditioning system to accommodate the new office lay out.
Concept’s priority was to make sure the office was ready in time for occupancy, whilst ensuring that the standard of workmanship was not compromised by the time restraints. To guarantee quality workmanship, it was agreed that some of the more aesthetic design elements could be completed once the offices were occupied.
The fit-out was completed on time, on budget and to the client’s satisfaction. But perhaps even more importantly, Concept’s careful management of the process ensured it was a smooth and unproblematic experience for all parties.
